Who can submit:

  • Current undergraduate students at any accredited institution
  • Students who have graduated within the past two years (early graduate students qualify)
  • Co-authored papers are welcome if the primary author meets eligibility requirements

Manuscript Types

Research Articles

Length: 4,000-8,000 words (including references)

Description: Original research papers presenting new insights, interpretations, or analyses in food science, clinical nutrition, or related methodology.

Book Reviews

Length: 1,000-2,000 words

Description: Critical reviews of recent academic books in HET and related fields. Books should be published within the last 3 years.

Review Essays

Length: 2,000-4,000 words

Description: Synthetic essays reviewing multiple books or examining themes across several works.

Research Notes

Length: 1,000-3,000 words

Description: Brief communications reporting preliminary findings, methodological innovations, or responses to published articles.

Formatting Guidelines

General Format

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12pt
  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Page numbers: Bottom center
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF

Title Page

Include the following on a separate title page:

  • Article title
  • Author name(s) and affiliation(s)
  • Contact information (email address)
  • Word count
  • Abstract (150-250 words)
  • Keywords (3-6 terms)
